Yankees captain Aaron Judge was obviously disappointed in the team's 4-2 loss to the Royals to even up the ALDS but took some positives out of it. Judge: "Guys were hitting the ball hard, couple fall through it's a different ball game but didn't happen so have to show up in KC."

Starter Carlos Rodon called pitching a playoff game at Yankee Stadium a "cool experience," and for the first three innings it was, with Rodon dominating the Royals lineup. Just as quickly though, the lefty lost his way as Kansas City put up a four-spot en route to a 4-2 win. Rodon: "There was a point in the fourth I was trying to do a little more to get some swing and misses... I just want to be better than that." Manager Aaron Boone pointed to Rodon getting behind Salvador Perez, then giving up a solo home run as the start of his downfall. After allowing three more runs, Boone pulled Rodon admitting, "There's a shorter leash in the playoffs."

The importance of this time and bringing a championship to the city...  the window won't be open forever." Captain Aaron Judge doesn't perceive the Yankees' task as pressure, calling it "the same games we've been playing all year." Both players talked abut the impact Juan Soto has had on the team's lineup with Judge adding, "he's the ultimate team player, the guy you want near the top of your lineup." Judge also touched on the Royals turnaround this season and knows the Yankees will have their hands full with a dynamic young opponent.
