Aaron Judge blasted three homers and drove in eight runs while Cody Bellinger had three hits and four RBI. Paul Goldschmidt started things off with a solo shot to lead off the first inning in which they went deep four times. He talked about continuing to add on and admitted the team's familiarity with Cortes' pitching played a big part in their success. Bellinger said "it was super unique" to be a part of but was also in awe of Judge's monster day. The Yankees' captain tried to downplay his performance but agreed the atmosphere was "electric."

He said the major difference between this year's team and years past is a younger roster including freshman standout Sarah Strong, who has impressed Auriemma with her maturity. Holding it all together though was Paige Bueckers and her dedication to the UConn program. "She deserves to go out a national champion."
