"As a team we're going to be aggressive...today we needed to be aggressive in the zone and it showed." With MVP candidate Francisco Lindor sidelined, Mendoza praised his team for still "sticking to the process. Having results. Preparation. Game planning. Talking to each other. Making adjustments."

Acuna added his second homer in as many nights to put New York in double figures and Mets starter Jose Quintana was the beneficiary of all this offense, scattering just two hits over seven innings as the Mets completed a three-game sweep of the Nationals.
