The Pirates unleashed a 17-hit attack and combined with some shaky Mets defense, led to a 14-7 Pittsburgh rout. The floodgates opened in the third inning with the game tied at two, when the Bucs put up a five-spot, helped along by errors from the normally reliable Francisco Lindor and Eduardo Escobar. Starter Tylor Megill failed to make it out of the fourth inning, having surrendered nine runs, seven of them earned and eight hits. Ke'Bryan Hayes made life miserable for the Mets, going 5-for-5 with four RBI.
