Mets starter Clay Holmes' pitch count was rising quickly against a disciplined young Cardinals team so after the third inning Holmes used his changeup more effectively and began to get groundball outs. For Bo Bichette, it was getting back to basics and competing hard in every at-bat. The result was a pair of RBI and feeling better at the plate.
