In his Mets news conference, center fielder Harrison Bader is "extremely excited for the opportunity" to be back in New York, after playing just a shade under a hundred games for the crosstown Yankees a couple of seasons ago. He underwent core muscle surgery in the offseason and dedicated himself to rehabbing for 2024. Bader also touched on reuniting with former University of Florida teammate Pete Alonso saying, "I admire the work behind the scenes that he does... there's great synergy here and I'm happy to be a Met."
