Bo Bichette then drove in the game-winning run with an RBI hit in the 10th inning.

Acquired by the Mets from the Tampa organization in the Freddy Peralta deal, Emilien Pitre is a smooth swinging lefty hitter that paid immediate dividends in his Double-AA debut for Binghamton going 2-for-4. He joins new teammate Mitch Voit, the Mets fith-ranked prospect,  who continued his hot hitting on Tuesday night with three more hits, a pair of RBI and two runs scored. The Brooklyn Cyclones unleashed 21-year old southpaw Nicolas Carreno, a top-30 prospect against Wilmington where he struck out eight in 5.2 innings and did not allow a hit.

Interim Mets manager Andy Green was impressed with the team's fight from start to finish in their 6-2 win over the Guardians. He remarked how alive the dugout was, especially after Luis Torrens' three-run homer and Nate Lavender's inning-ending strikeout in his major league debut after missing the last two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery. Green also had high praise for Kodai Senga who is making the transition to the bullpen after being starter his entire professional career.
