After two strong starts to begin the season, Kodai Senga could not make it out of the third inning on Saturday, surrendering eight hits and seven earned runs. Senga indicated that he felt good, he simply couldn't command the strike zone. Francisco Lindor is scuffling offensively but it may be carrying over to his play at shortstop. His failure to complete a double play in the second allowed the A's to take the lead. Lindor insists he's "locked in" and is trending in the right direction but admitted "I gotta be better.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza attributed Kodai Senga's ineffective outing in the team's 11-6 loss to lack of fastball command. Senga was on regular rest but just could not find his rhythm. Mendoza also addressed another poor performance from reliever Luke Weaver and Francisco Lindor's erratic defensive play at shortstop.

Mets starter Kodai Senga suffered the worst outing of his MLB career in an 11-6 loss to the A's. Senga allowed eight hits and seven earned runs in just 2.1 innings. The Mets rallied to close within a run, hitting home runs in three straight innings but the Athletics added on late to hand New York its fourth consecutive defeat.
