Yankees manager Aaron Boone smiled when told what Jazz Chisholm's teammates were telling him after his two-homer, five-RBI performance in an 8-5 win over the Pirates. Jose Caballero contributed offensively with a two-run double and was also a central figure along with Pirates reliever Dennis Santana when both benches emptied in the eighth inning.

In his first rehab start as he looks to make his way back to the Bronx after being shut down with a bruised elbow in May,  Max Fried took the mound  for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate in Scranton Wilkes-Barre. Clearly shaking off the rust, Fried threw 25 of those pitches in the first inning but was able to get through the second and third more efficiently.
