Binghamton first baseman Ryan Clifford walloped a tape measure solo shot on Saturday against Somerset, his 16th homer of the season. Mets 2024 first-round draft pick OF Carson Benge delivered a three-hit night  for St. Lucie including, a pair of doubles and an RBI.

With his family on hand, Jose Quintana became the first Colombian-born pitcher to win 100 MLB games in the Mets 4-0 victory over the Reds. Quintana thanked his family and teammates for their support but plans "to stay hungry and try to keep things rolling."

 It's been a rough stretch for Mets OF Harrison Bader, mired in a 0-for-15 slump and just two hits in his last 33 at-bats but he came through in a big way on Saturday breaking a scoreless tie with an opposite-field home run to give the Mets a lead they would not relinquish for their ninth straight win. In light of his struggles Bader "just wants to keep the winning mentality and just want to produce for this team."

Mets starter Jose Quintana pitched 6.2 scoreless innings to earn his 100th MLB win and Harrison Bader broke a 0-for-15 slump with a solo home run, jump-starting a four-run sixth inning as the Mets blanked the Reds 4-0 for their ninth straight win.

Jeff McNeil was hit on the right wrist in Friday's win over the Reds and what he thought was no big deal turned out to be a huge setback to the Mets playoff chase. McNeil sustained a fracture that will likely end his season. It's the second straight year that he's endured a season-ending injury and while he's obviously frustrated, McNeil believes his teammates are more than capable of making up for his loss.
