Mets manager Mendoza praised the veteran righty for utilizing his entire repertoire, to keep the Reds in check. Severino feels he always has his high-velocity fastball when he needs it. He also talked about not paying attention to the other teams in the pennant race but focusing on just his Mets team.

Luis Severino delivered another stellar performance, allowing just one run and striking out eight over six and a third innings, but the Mets' offense struggled, managing only one run. The Reds scored two runs in the top of the ninth, securing a 3-1 win over the Mets.
