In this Mets post game news conference, starter Max Scherzer was visibly frustrated after Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Padres, placing the blame on the inability to command his slider, which has always been an important part of his pitching repertoire. Manny Machado made him pay in the first inning, hitting a three-run homer off a hanging slider. Scherzer: "Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. The worst thing to have is an inconsistent pitch."
