In their most dramatic win of the season, the Mets came from behind on three separate occasions to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-7 in ten innings. Mark Vientos, called up earlier in the day, hit a two-run home run to tie the game at two in the seventh. Then in the ninth inning, down 5-2, Francisco Alvarez unloaded a three-run blast to even it up at five. Pete Alonso then completed the night of comebacks, crushing a three-run walkoff HR in the 10th for a much needed team win. Lost in the dramatics, was the outstanding pitching of Kodai Senga, who struck out 12 Rays over six innings.
