For Mets manager Carlos Mendoza, the "rough patch" the team has hit is directly related to the struggles of the starting rotation. The Mets lost their sixth game in a row 7-1 and were swept for the second consecutive series. Mets pitching surrendered nine walks and seven earned runs while Braves starter Scott Strider struck out eight batters, allowing just one run over six innings. Ronny Mauricio drove in the only run for New York with an RBI single.
