Mets manager Carlos Mendoza felt starter Kodai Senga did an outstanding job of using his entire arsenal in the Mets' 3-0 win over St. Louis. He also touched on another big day at the plate for Pete Alonso, calling him "a dangerous hitter." Mendoza updated the injury status of third baseman Mark Vientos, who left the game with a leg injury, saying "there's a low level of concern," and listed him as day-to-day.

Saying he was pretty sure "it was just a cramp," Mark Vientos didn't anticipate his leg injury that caused him to leave the game was serious. His teammates Kodai Senga and Pete Alonso took care of business in his absence, leading the Mets to a 3-0 win. Senga allowed just three hits over 5.2 innings but still had to escape some jams. Alonso continued to rake, doubling home a run in the third and launching his sixth HR in the eighth.  He said he hadn't been this "locked in" since college and his two RBI moved him into a tie for the National League lead with 23.

Both Mets manager Carlos Mendoza and starter David Peterson used the word "special" when describing Francisco Lindor both on and off the field. Mendoza said "you can feel his presence every day," and Peterson called him the "best shortstop in baseball," after his walk-off home run in the ninth inning. Asked where he was when Lindor connected, Peterson rather sheepishly said, "the bathroom" when he heard the roar of the big crowd.

Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor called his 250th career home run a "nice number." It was a lot more than that as it gave New York a 5-4 win in the bottom of the ninth inning, his first walk-off HR as a Met. He cited the contributions of several teammates, calling it a "fantastic win."

Francisco Lindor ended a seesaw battle between the Mets and Cardinals, blasting a walk-off home-run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give New York the victory after the Cardinals' Brendan Donovan had tied the game in the top of the inning. It was the 250th HR of Lindor's career and his first game-winning long ball as a Met.

For the Syracuse Mets, Drew Gilbert collected his first Triple-A hit this season. On the mound, Dom Hamel struck out five over 3.0 innings pitched. In Binghamton, Jett Williams hit a first inning home run into right center field.

Mets Francisco Lindor, Mark Vientos and Griffin Canning reacted to the team's 4-1 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.  Lindor went 3-for-4 with an RBI, and Mark Vientos hit his first home run of the season.  Griffin Canning got the win, striking out eight over six innings.

After a difficult start to the season, Yankees' left fielder Jasson Dominguez feels his "confidence growing" after a three-RBI night in a 4-2 win over Kansas City. Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau thought the team hit their stride both offensively and defensively in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Pistons by 19 points to take Game 1 of their playoff series 123-112. Thibodeau credited Cameron Payne with infusing energy into the team with the Knicks down early in the final quarter and praised OG Anunoby for battling Detroit star Cade Cunningham. The coach made it clear that it's only one game and there's a lot for them to clean up as the series moves on.
