At the NHL All-Star Skill Competition, Islanders forward Mathew Barzal couldn't believe how much he was "huffing and puffing" during the event. Barzal held his own against Edmonton superstar Connor McDavid in the fastest skater competition before losing an edge on the final turn. He also showed a sense of humor in picking rival Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin in the one on one event thinking it would be "fun for the entire New York fan base."
