After the Mets 4-2 win, manager Carlos Mendoza continued to be impressed by OF Carson Benge's maturity and performance. Benge discusses his eventful game which included a home run, diving catch and face plant after a "bad read" on a fly ball. David Peterson commented on picking up his first win of the season, striking out six batters in four innings.

Mets rookie OF Carson Benge launched his third home run of the season and made another diving catch. Mark Vientos continued his RBI binge, delivering a clutch two-run single and David Peterson threw four solid  innings out of the bullpen as New York defeated the Rockies 4-2.

The Mets’ offense came alive behind two home runs from Mark Vientos, giving him four RBIs on the day. The defense was also up to the task, with two great diving catches from MJ Melendez and Carson Benge. Clay Holmes lowered his league-leading ERA to 1.69, going 6.2 innings while striking out six as the Mets defeat the Angels 5-1

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza admitted his video replay team missed challenging a call in the first inning that would have prevented the Angels' first run in an eventual 4-3 loss but felt the team missed several opportunities to score throughout the latter portion of the game. Nolan McLean pitched perhaps his worst game as a Met, lasting just four innings and attributed much of his sub-par outing to falling behind in counts. Bo BIchette was disappointed with his own at-bats, not coming through with men in scoring position. Mendoza provided more bad news on the injury front with Ronny Mauricio now sidelined with a fractured thumb.

For the second straight night, the Mets rallied to tie the game late but the Angels spoiled this comeback with a walk-off win in the 10th inning 4-3.
