Mets prospects were loving the long ball on Tuesday night as the team's No. 1 prospect Jefferson Rojas belted his first HR for Binghamton while also adding a pair of RBI doubles. 18-year old Elian Pena launched a pair of HRs extending his hit streak to 12 games. Syracuse's Nick Morabito also went yard and teammate Jonah Tong contributed on the mound grinding through four innings with six strikeouts.

Interim Mets manager Andy Green called Nolan McLean's outing against the Braves a "great" six innings of work. Green liked the way McLean battled his way  through a couple of jams in the early innings. His lone blemish on the night was allowing a home run to Ozzie Albies but the Mets righty tipped his cap to Atlanta's All-Star second baseman for a "good swing."

Nolan McLean made just one mistake over his otherwise outstanding six innings of work and that was a solo home run to Ozzie Albies in the Mets eventual 4-0 loss to the Braves. His Atlanta counterpart Martin Perez  and Atlanta's bullpen surrendered just four singles on the night as New York suffered its 13th shutout loss of the season.

Among the takeaways from Jets head coach Aaron Glenn after Saturday's intra-squad scrimmage was that they need to get the ball into the hands of versatile WR Isiah Williams.. According to Glenn, the Jets team MVP a year ago in an explosive player that has earned "respect and more reps." With regard to the scrimmage, the coach liked the offense getting off to a fast start before the defense stepped up and shut them down. With less than a week to go before their first preseason game against Tampa Bay, all three phases of the Jets roster was putting in the work. Quarterbacks Geno Smith and Cade Klubnik concentrated on timing with their receivers while the offensive line, led by Armand Membou, sharpened up their footwork. The Jets outstanding special teams unit worked on creating turnovers, led by coach Chris Banjo.
