The biggest story from the Mets' minor league system came in Brooklyn, where Colin Houck went 4-for-4. Randy Guzman delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth before Daiverson Gutierrez capped off the comeback with a walk-off three-run home run.

Interim Mets manager Andy Green had plenty of praise to pass around after the team's 14-3 walloping of Atlanta. Of Francisco Lindor's two-homer, six-RBI night, it was only a matter of time. He was also impressed with "smoking hot" Tyrone Taylor's phenomenal swings, including his sixth HR in the last 38 at-bats.  Then there was rookie Zac Thornton and his poise against a hard-hitting Braves lineup and veteran Marcus Semien's all-around play, the mark of a "true professional."

In his first rehab start as he looks to make his way back to the Bronx after being shut down with a bruised elbow in May,  Max Fried took the mound  for the Yankees Triple-A affiliate in Scranton Wilkes-Barre. Fried went three innings, throwing 52 pitches and striking out three. Clearly shaking off the rust, Fried threw 25 of those pitches in the first inning but was able to get through the second and third more efficiently. He did surrender a solo HR in the third inning but the priority was feeling healthy after the outing.
