Myers struck out four batters in three innings of work and says the plan is to work up to "60-65 pitches and see where we're at." He's extremely impressed with the "great track record" of the Mets' pitching instructors, especially as he tries to add a splitter to his pitching arsenal.

Following in the footsteps of versatile former Met Jeff McNeil, Brett Baty is making the adjustment to playing several different positions, all while trying to produce quality at-bats at the plate. He's up for the challenge though, describing himself as a "worker that likes trying different things."

Freddy Peralta breezed through three perfect innings as he builds towards his Mets' Opening Day assignment and MJ Melendez, in a battle to make the big league club, smashed a pair of opposite-field homers while driving in four runs in a 14-3 pounding of the Cardinals. Top outfield prospect A.J. Ewing also got in on the act with a two-run shot to straightaway center field.

He feels the veteran players that returned and the renewed presence of Gerrit Cole can help them change the end result. Judge also touched on the "excitement" of playing in WBC and representing the USA. He hasn't quite figured out how he will deal with automated balls and strikes system but will form a game plan once he starts seeing live pitching again.
