The long road to recovery for Christian Scott finally culminated in his first MLB win as the Mets downed the Marlins 6-1. Manager Carlos Mendoza feels adding to his pitching repertoire will make Scott more effective as he continues to progress. Mendoza was also thrilled for backup catcher Hayden Senger, who clubbed his first big league HR, smiling the whole way around the bases. Senger did humorously resort to "begging" the ball to go out when it initially left his bat.

Christian Scott delivered his best performance of the season, striking out eight Marlins over five innings and the Mets' bats broke out with 10 hits in a 6-1 win. Mark Vientos laced a two-run double, while Jared Young and Hayden Senger unloaded solo home runs for the offense. It was Young's first HR of the season and for Senger, his first big league bomb.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone, 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Cody Bellinger all expressed their admiration at closer David Bednar's toughness in closing out the Blue Jays just one day after a blown save against the Mets. The teams combined to hit five home runs between them but Bednar retiring Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to close out a 7-6 Yankees win proved to be the play of the game.
