Rodon: "There was a point in the fourth I was trying to do a little more to get some swing and misses... I just want to be better than that." Manager Aaron Boone pointed to Rodon getting behind Salvador Perez, then giving up a solo home run as the start of his downfall. After allowing three more runs, Boone pulled Rodon admitting, "There's a shorter leash in the playoffs."

As the Mets get set to face the Dodgers in the NLCS, manager Carlos Mendoza met the media prior to the trip out West to talk about the matchup. "They are really good, lot of superstars, faced a lot of adversity, injuries, but we are a good team too and ready to go." Kodai Senga will start Game 1 and Sean Manaea will go in Game 2. The status of Jeff McNeil's availability has yet to be determined. McNeil went 1-for-4 in an Arizona Fall League game on Friday night and is scheduled to start again on Saturday. Mendoza: "We'll see if he is healthy, good chance he will be on the roster and go from there."
