Tauchman, Carson Benge and Vidal Brujan are among the players battling to make the Opening Day roster. He also discussed Jorge Polanco's misplay at first base adding, he was glad it happened in spring training and is a good teaching moment.

Marcus Semien ripped a three-run double and youngster Aaron Salgado had a triple, single and RBI in the Mets 7-5 loss to Houston. Pitching prospect Jonah Tong endured some tough luck but still managed to strike out five batters in 4.1 innings.
