Buck Showalter on struggles of Elieser Hernandez and Darin Ruf, Starling Marte work ethic | Mets Post Game
3/11/2023, 2:40 AM
In this Mets postgame news conference, manager Buck Showalter thought despite allowing four runs over two-plus innings in the Mets 7-5 loss to the Cardinals, starter Elieser Hernandez didn't get the benefit of the doubt on some close pitches. He remains confident that veteran Darin Ruf will eventually come around, even though he has yet to register a hit this spring. Buck expressed admiration for Starling Marte's work ethic after the outfielder doubled and homered in his spring training debut earlier in the day against the Astros.
