Myers and the coaching staff are taking a "deep dive" into his mechanics which may be hampering his effectiveness.

It was a night to forget for the Mets who watched the Reds score nine runs in the first two innings off of Tobias Myers and Jonathan Pintaro, including a pair of home runs and six RBI from Eugenio Suarez in the eventual 12-0 loss. Bo Bichette was the lone bright spot for the Mets, garnering three of their six hits.

Ewing followed with a bases-clearing two-run double, and Brett Baty added an RBI single of his own. Later in the fifth inning, A.J. Ewing and Marcus Semien went back-to-back with a pair of solo home runs. Juan Soto joined the barrage adding a two RBI single in the eighth. Freddy Peralta turned gave a strong outing for the Mets, pitching five innings and allowing one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out two batters.
