The Yankees are trading Joey Gallo to the Los Angeles Dodgers for RHP prospect Clayton Beeter, per multiple reports, with the deal contingent on medicals.

Beeter, 23, was the Dodgers' No. 15 prospect per MLB Pipeline. He has posted a 5.75 ERA in 51.2 innings this season (16 starts, two relief appearances).

It was a hard time in the Bronx for Gallo, to say the least, since his trade from the Texas Rangers to the Yankees last season.

He played 140 games with New York, slashing .159/.291/.368 with 25 homers, 46 RBI, and a whopping 194 strikeouts.

Because of the addition of Andrew Benintendi, and the eventual return of Giancarlo Stanton, there were too many outfielders and Gallo just wasn't producing at the dish.

Gallo realized he struggled mightily in pinstripes, admitting that it's something he'll have to live with moving forward.

Now Gallo has a chance to revitalize his career elsewhere. He's still an above-average fielder and has the athleticism to be a productive player.
