Deivi Garcia, RHP, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (No. 1, MLB No. 64) -- ETA 2020
In the bullpen for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre since Aug. 22, Garcia's continues to adjust. His second appearance came last Monday when he allowed two runs on three hits, a walk and a hit batter while he struck two out on 42 pitches, battling command issues with 24 strikes to 18 balls. Garcia's latest outing and third overall as a reliever occurred last last Friday with mixed results. He surrendered three runs on two hits, including a home run, plus two walks to two strikeouts on 38 pitches -- 21 strikes.
In three games from the 'pen, Garcia has given up six runs on eight hits (two home runs) and sports a 11.57 ERA. However, his swings and misses are still evident of the power arm that made the 20-year-old rise up the Yankees' list of prospects, striking out nine while walking three.
Estevan Florial, OF, High-A Tampa (No. 2, MLB No. 65) -- ETA 2021
With High-A Tampa all season long, Florial logged 74 games and slashed .237/.297/.383 with eight home runs and 38 RBI. The 21-year-old experienced a bit of a down year, but he ended the campaign on a high note. Over his final four games from last Monday through last Thursday, Florial went 4-for-16 with three runs and two RBI. During the season-ending span, which was bogged down slightly by seven strikeouts, two of Florial's hits were doubles.
Clarke Schmidt, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 5) -- ETA 2020
Schmidt, 23, ended the year emphatically with the last of three starts in Double-A Trenton last Tuesday. He went 7.0 shutout innings, improving to 2-0 in three starts at the level, yielding three hits and recording five strikeouts. For the second straight start, Schmidt got the win without issuing a walk. In three starts, he logged 19.0 innings and a 2.37 ERA, scattering five runs on 14 hits and striking out 19 while walking one. Overall, with his stints in the Rookie level GCL and High-A Tampa included, Schmidt climbed the ladder quickly as he went 6-5 with a 3.47 ERA over 90.2 innings across 19 games (18 starts).
Albert Abreu, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 7) -- ETA 2020
Abreu, who turns 24 on Sept. 26, completed his season in Double-A Trenton with a bumpy performance for a last outing. In 3.0 innings last Thursday, Abreu allowed five runs on six hits with four strikeouts to no walks. He threw 54 pitches, 38 of which were strikes. His year, spent entirely with Double-A Trenton, ended with a 5-8 record and 4.42 ERA over 93.2 innings in 22 games (20 starts).
Roansy Contreras, RHP, Low-A Charleston (No. 13) -- ETA 2022
The 19-year-old Contreras capped his season in Low-A Charleston with a pair of 6.0-inning starts, both of which ended in wins. Over the last two starts, Contreras logged 12.0 innings, striking out 14 while walking three and yielding one run on five hits. On the year, he went 12-5 with a 3.33 ERA over 132.1 innings in 24 starts.
Alexander Vizcaino, RHP, High-A Tampa (No. 14) -- ETA 2022
After starting the season in Low-A Charleston, the 22-year-old Vizcaino earned his way to High-A Tampa, where he ended the year Aug. 23 with five runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings. Upon his promotion, he went 1-0 with a 4.23 ERA, striking out 27 while walking 11.
Nick Nelson, RHP, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (No. 15) -- ETA 2020
Nelson's final two starts of his season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre came on a high note, going 5.0 innings in both. He went 1-0, striking out 14 while walking three and scattering five runs on eight hits. Overall, with High-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton included, the 23-year-old Nelson went 8-3 with a 2.81 ERA over 89.2 innings in 18 games (17 starts).
Trevor Stephan, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 16) -- ETA 2019
Stephan's last starts came Aug. 14 and 19 with Double-A Trenton, where he combined to go 9.0 innings. His outings were headlined by 14 strikeouts to three walks. Overall, with High-A Tampa included, the 23-year-old Stephan went 4-7 with a 4.73 ERA.
Michael King, RHP, Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (No. 20) -- ETA 2019
King ended his season with Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre. He logged 23.2 innings there, going 3-1 and striking out 28 while walking six. The 24-year-old's last two starts provided a positive note, going 2-0 and logging 11.0 innings, striking out 13 and walking two while limiting the opposition to five runs (four earned) on five hits.
