Albert Abreu, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 3) -- ETA 2020
Abreu took a backward step in his last outing, walking six batters and allowing five hits, which resulted in five runs in five innings of work. The right-hander's ERA shot up to 4.78 (43.1 innings) and his 32:37 walk to strikeout ratio is holding him back from reaching his full potential.
Deivi Garcia, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 4) -- ETA 2020
Garcia, who just turned 20 years old, is settling into Double-A quite well. He struck out 10 batters and allowed just one run in six innings in his lone start of the week. Garcia has struck out an incredible 75 batters in just 43.2 innings (15.5 K/9) between High-A Tampa and Trenton.
Clarke Schmidt, RHP, High-A Tampa (No. 5) -- ETA 2020
In his second start since coming off the injured list, Schmidt was fantastic, striking out nine batters in six scoreless innings. Schmidt's effort lowered his season ERA to 3.48 in 33.2 innings for the Tarpons.
Trevor Stephen, RHP, Double-A Trenton (No. 8) -- ETA 2020
Stephen is ramping his efforts back up after missing time on the injured list. In his second start since his return, Stephan allowed one run without allowing a hit, but walked three batters and hit a batter in 3 1/3 innings.
Roansy Contreras, RHP, Low-A Charleston (No. 10) -- ETA 2022
Contreras picked up his fourth win of the season (4-2) with his second straight seven-inning outing. The right-hander scattered eight hits and allowed two runs without walking a batter. Contreras has walked just nine batters in 46.1 innings this season.
Luis Gil, RHP, Low-A Charleston (No. 13) -- ETA 2022
Gil got roughed up in his latest start, allowing six runs on five hits and four walks in four innings of work. It was by far Gil's worst outing of the season as his ERA jumped from 0.82 to 2.19 in 37 innings.
Luis Medina, RHP, Low-A Charleston (No. 14) -- ETA 2022
Medina might have hit a low and that's saying something considering how his season has gone thus far. In his last start, Medina walked seven batters and allowed five hits resulting in seven runs in just 3.1 innings. In 31 innings (eight starts), Medina holds a 9.58 ERA and now has more walks than strikeouts (36 to 34), while batters are hitting .328 against him.
Josh Breaux, C, Low-A Charleston (No. 15) -- ETA 2021
Breaux was placed on the injured list retroactive to May 22. Breaux is hitting .295 with a .323 on-base percentage and .500 slugging percentage with seven home runs and 30 RBIs in 122 at-bats for the RiverDogs.
Garrett Whitlock, RHP, Double-A Trenton Thunders (No. 16) -- ETA 2019
Whitlock stepped on the mound twice this past week and didn't fare all too well. The 22-year-old allowed nine runs (seven earned) in nine combined innings. Opposing batters racked up 14 hits and drew four walks in the process. Whitlock's ERA jumped to 3.57 and his WHIP in-creased to 1.33 across 35.1 innings.
