The Yankees suffer a second straight late-inning loss to the Astros, 6-3, at Minute Maid Ballpark.

Five takeaways from Tuesday's game…

1) Rookie right-hander Jonathan Loaisiga looked great in the first inning, striking out the Astros in order. From there it was a bit of a different story, but not all of Loaisiga's doing as his defense didn't make things any easier. Loaisiga tossed just three innings, allowing two runs on four hits, two walks while striking out five batters. This was likely Loaisiga's final start with the big league club for a while with CC Sabathia due back from the injured list by the time the spot comes back through the rotation.

2) A day after the Yankees bullpen coughed up the lead, it had to pull together to complete the game and the result was less than ideal. After Stephen Tarpley and Luis Cessa put up 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball, Jonathan Holder and Chad Green allowed four runs. The bullpen is a mess in its current state and it's costing the Yankees victories.

3) The Yankees had another messy game in the field. While not charged with errors, Clint Frazier dropped two line drives that were catchable, with both misplays leading to runs. Meanwhile, Brett Gardner made an error in center field (as Frazier zoomed by him, having to jump out of the way). On a strong throw by Frazier to third base, Gleyber Torres slid into Loaisiga who was already covering the bag. On a separate play Torres failed to check the runner rounding third assuming he would score and meanwhile the runner fell, which would have been an easy out. Finally, Austin Romine allowed a wild pitch and a passed ball.

4) Gary Sanchez keeps smoking baseballs, ripping a two-run go-ahead double (108.1 mph) in the Yanks half of the sixth inning. Sanchez is now batting .275 and leads the team in home runs (six) and RBIs (11).

5) Luke Voit has yet to find consistency at the plate this season, but he took a step in the right direction with his third home of the season to give the yankees the early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Voit also scored the go-ahead run off Sanchez's double.
