The Yankees couldn't sweep the Orioles in their final game of this road trip, as the Baltimore Orioles walked it off on them at Camden Yards, 9-6.

Takeaways from the game

1. With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the ninth down a run, DJ LeMahieu (2-for-5) was clutch as he singled to right field to score Isiah Kiner-Falefa to tie the game at 6-6.

However, Anthony Santander walked it off in the bottom of the ninth to kill that rally, bringing home Austin Hays and Trey Mancini with a three-run bomb to left field.

2. Yankees pitching had an all-around off day, and that's been very rare this season. Jordan Montgomery got the runs he so desperately wanted from his own team, but gave up some in the process. He went five innings, giving up three earned on seven hits with three strikeouts. The biggest blow came from Robinson Chirinos, who is one of the coldest Orioles hitters, as a two-run blast in the second came off his bat to tie the game at two.

Then, the bullpen broke down in the bottom of the sixth. Miguel Castro didn't record an out when he came in, giving up three runs (two earned) one hit, a catcher's interference and a walk. Chad Green got two outs, but let up a game-tying sacrifice fly to Cedric Mullins and an RBI single to Rougned Odor to give the O's a 6-5 lead.

3. Giancarlo Stanton put the offense on his back early on, collecting three RBI with a solo homer to left field -- it's the first homer over that ghastly wall in left field at Camden Yards by an away player -- and a two-RBI single in the first inning that gave the Yanks a quick 2-0 lead. He was very solid on this road trip, going 12-for-27 (.444) with a 1.508 OPS.

4/. It was almost a bad inning for the Yankees when they had bases loaded and no outs in the sixth. Gleyber Torres and Aaron Hicks both struck out, but Kiner-Falefa wasn't leaving the inning without taking the lead. He hit an RBI single, driving in two to make it 5-3 Yanks. Those were his ninth and 10th RBI on the season.

5. Anthony Rizzo had himself a 2-for-4 day at the plate with two runs scored. But, after arguing pitches after striking out in the eighth, he was tossed by home plate umpire Manny Gonzalez.
