The Yankees won their fourth straight game, handling the Oakland A's 13-4 on Thursday night.

Here are the takeaways…

- The Yankees struck first in the top of the second inning. A’s starter James Kaprielian struggled with his command, walking a pair with an Oswaldo Cabrera single in between to load the bases. Isiah Kiner-Falefa then delivered with a two-run single up the middle, scoring a pair.

Later in the inning, Giancarlo Stanton, fresh off being activated from the IL, singled in two more runs to give the Bombers an early 4-0 lead.

- The Yankees piled on in the third, as a Josh Donaldson double and an Andrew Benintendi sac fly brought in a pair, and a Stanton walk then forced home a seventh run, ending Kaprielian’s night. Lefty Kirby Snead took over on the mound and allowed an RBI single to Anthony Rizzo, which was also charged to Kaprielian.

The former Yankees prospect struggled mightily against the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2015 draft. He lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing eight earned runs on seven hits with six walks and two strikeouts.

- Stanton had a solid night in his return from the IL, going 1-for-4 with three runs driven in.

- Staked to a sizable early lead, Jameson Taillon kept the A’s bats at bay through his first five innings. He allowed a solo home run to Shea Langeliers in the bottom of the sixth, but the righty turned in a quality start, going 6.0 innings while allowing one earned run on six hits with a pair of strikeouts.

- The rout was on in this one, as Donaldson doubled again to drive in a pair in a three-run seventh inning. The third baseman came into the night hitting just .219, but he finished 3-for-5 on the night with two doubles and three RBI.

Meanwhile, Cabrera recorded the first three-hit game of his young career, and Benintendi notched a trio of hits as well. As a team, the Yankees finished with 20 hits.

- Fordham product Greg Weissert made his major league debut on the mound in the bottom of the seventh inning, and he got off to an inauspicious start, hitting a pair of batters with his first two pitches while also committing a balk. Weissert got one out on a fly ball to center, but he walked two more hitters, forcing Aaron Boone to pull him from the game.

Weissert was ultimately charged for three runs in just one-third of an inning, walking two and hitting a pair of batters.
