Matt Carpenter's fractured foot leaves a spot open on the roster for the Yankees, and Miguel Andujar will fill that void.

The Yankees officially announced on Tuesday afternoon that Carpenter has been placed on the 10-day IL with a left-foot fracture, with Andujar promoted from Triple-A to take his place on the roster.

Andujar has had his moments in a Yankees uniform this season, owning a .245 average with four RBI and two doubles.

The last time he was up with the big club was on July 2 as a part of a doubleheader with the Cleveland Guardians.

It's unclear how long Andujar will stay. Giancarlo Stanton can come back this week, but there hasn't been much news on the slugger. So there is a chance Andujar has an extended stay with the Yanks.
