Yankees manager Aaron Boone has been trying to piece together his bullpen and hope for good results the last few weeks. But reinforcements may be coming very soon.

Luis Severino and Domingo German have both been progressing well, enough so that he is confident this week could be the time they return to the team.

"Good chances next one could be with us in the next couple days," Boone told reporters Sunday about German.

The right-hander has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but he has had a solid rehab stint with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre recently.

Boone added that German could be thrown into whatever situation the Yanks need him in based off how the bullpen has recently been up and down.

"I think you understand our situation," Boone said. "So, yeah, whoever gives us the best chance in different situations – Sevy could be in those roles as well.”

Severino has been recovering from Tommy John surgery, and though there was a setback in his rehab that forced him to be shut down, he finally appears ready to make his season debut.

"Sevy’s likely to come with us next and we’ll see if that’s in the next day or two or not," Boone said.

"His last living out was two [innings] and 35 [pitches]. So kinda view him as anything from an inning in some situations to possibly two or three-inning scenarios that I think he’ll be able to handle."

If one, or preferably both if you're the Yanks, can perform well from the onset, it would be an immediate boost heading into a tough final stretch with a Wild Card berth on the doorstep. Entering Sunday, the Yanks are half a game behind the Toronto Blue Jays for one.

Estevan Florial recalled

The Yanks announced that Florial was brought back up from Triple-A to join the team. Also, Miguel Andujar began a rehab assignment in Triple-A as well.
