The Yankees placed catcher Jose Trevino on the 10-day injured list Saturday morning with a left quad strain and recalled catcher Carlos Narvaez from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Trevino left Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles after hitting a double and scoring in the top of the ninth, as Austin Wells came in to catch the last half inning of the game.

After the 4-1 win, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said he believes the injury happened on the slide to home.

The backstop had been having a strong night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Over 60 games this season, Trevino is hitting .244 with four doubles, eight home runs, and 27 RBI.

Narvaez, 25, will make his MLB debut when he eventually takes the field for the Yanks. The catcher was hitting .269 in Triple-A with 17 doubles, nine homers, 47 RBI, and 45 walks over 71 games.
