The Yankees are promoting RHP Greg Weissert from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, according to a report by Joel Sherman of The New York Post.

Weissert's promotion is to replace an injured pitcher, the report said.

Weissert, 27, is a Bay Shore native and Fordham product whom the Yankees selected with an 18th-round pick in the 2016 MLB Draft.

In 46 innings over 40 games this season with the RailRiders, Weissert has pitched to a 1.76 ERA and 0.89 WHIP.

The Yankees begin a 10-game road trip with Thursday's 9:40 p.m. start at the Oakland A's.
