While rappelling down the side of the Landmark Building in Stamford, Conn., Yankees GM Brian Cashman declared that he wants manager Aaron Boone to be in New York for the long run.

Cashman and Boone were together on the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” on Friday, rappelling down the 22-story building. As they went down, Fox News' Will Cain asked Cashman if this sort of activity could help Boone get a long-term extension.

Despite the intense circumstances they were in, Cashman gave Boone a big stamp of support.

"I’ve had three managers, 10 (years) with Joe Torre, 10 with (Joe) Girardi and hopefully 10 more with Boone," Cashman said.

The Yankees exercised Boone's option for 2021 earlier this offseason, but his status after that had still remained up in the air.

Despite the Yankees success — 236-148 record under Boone — over the last three seasons, this group hasn't won the championship many had expected them to have by now yet. In fact, they haven't even made a World Series.

The 2020 ALDS Game 2 pitching situation with Deivi Garcia and J.A. Happ brought up some more questions on Boone, with many taking aim at the skipper for that costly decision.

But with that resounding remark from Cashman, any speculation of the Yankees switching managers looks dead in the water.
