Yankees INF Gio Urshela will have an MRI on his knee after making a diving play that took him out of the team's loss to the Astros on Thursday afternoon.

"He's getting an MRI now so we'll know more in the next couple hours," Boone said after the game. "He was stable when [trainers] put him through different knee tests and stuff. We'll know more probably in the next couple hours."

Urshela made a diving stop in the top of the eighth inning, but an errant throw to first couldn't get the runner. When the play was dead, Urshela was on one knee and seemed to feel discomfort somewhere. Tyler Wade replaced him and he quickly walked into the tunnel after being checked by trainers.

"He's not sure if it was on the dive or when he rolled the throw. But obviously stiffened up on him pretty good," Boone said.

As the Yankees' most-trusted infielder, Boone knows a potential loss of his third baseman would be a damper on things.

"Of course," he said. "Obviously, Gio's a big part of what we do and so hopefully it's nothing too serious."

Rougned Odor is also hurt at the moment, so Wade might be seeing more playing time. Miguel Andujar is another option, as he's down in Triple-A at the moment.
