RHP Masahiro Tanaka (4.93 ERA/1.32 WHIP), who is looking to reverse his last start against the Orioles, where he allowed 10 hits and five earned over 5.1 innings. Tanaka imploded in that sixth inning to let the Orioles back in the game.

The veteran starter is trying to find his groove back on the rubber, as he's been inconsistent of late.

RHP Trent Thornton (5.55 ERA/1.53 WHIP), who allowed six runs on eight hits (three homers) over 3.2 innings in his last start against the Rays. Thornton has allowed 16 runs in his past four starts.

After finishing up this series, the Yankees head back home to face the Orioles for a four-game series, beginning with a doubleheader on Monday.
