With their offense sagging, the Yankees are calling up OF Estevan Florial from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In addition to Florial, the Yanks are also calling up shortstop Oswaldo Cabrera from the RailRiders for what will be his MLB debut. He is slated to hit sixth and play third base on Wednesday night in the Bronx.

The corresponding moves are Miguel Andujar and Tim Locastro being sent back down to Triple-A. Clay Holmes is also headed to the IL, as Ron Marinaccio is being added back to the bullpen.

Florial, 24, is hitting .286 with an .858 OPS and has hit 13 homers in 353 at-bats this season for the RailRiders.

He has had very brief tastes of the majors in 2020, 2021, and 2022, hitting .206/.325/.352 with one homer and two doubles in 40 plate appearances over 16 games.

Cabrera, 23, is hitting .269 with an .851 OPS in 197 at-bats this season.

The Yankees have lost eight of their last 10 games, but still hold a commanding 9.0 game lead for first place in the AL East over the Tampa Bay Rays.

In their last three games -- all losses -- the Yanks have scored a total of one run. Over their last six games, they have scored just nine runs.

Yankees outfielders not named Aaron Judge have been struggling badly during this recent stretch.

Aaron Hicks is hitting .119 in August, Andujar has struck out eight times in 18 at-bats since being called back up about a week ago, Andrew Benintendi is hitting .234 with a .294 OBP this month, and Locastro -- playing sparingly -- last got a hit on July 17.
