Down in the Mets' minor leagues, LHP Anthony Kay has been tearing it up for the Doulbe-A Rumble Ponies this season.
The first-round pick by the Mets in the 2016 MLB Draft has been virtually untouchable with a 1.07 ERA and 0.77 WHIP over nine starts this season. He also threw a no-hit, seven-inning shutout during a doubleheader in his last start on May 20.
Kay is setting himself up perfectly for a promotion to Triple-A, and if he keeps it up, he could see a call-up to Queens, too.
Kay, along with his head coach Kevin Boles, sat down with SNY for a "Prospect Profile" to talk about the Mets' pitching prospects amazing start to 2019, and how he's been so successful thus far....
