The Mets added three players to their roster at the trade deadline Monday, but only two will be new to the ballclub, as familiar face Todd Frazier will make his way back to New York from Texas.
Frazier was with the Mets during the past two seasons before signing with the Rangers this season. The New Jersey native took to Instagram Monday night to thank the Rangers for his time with them and to share his excitement to return to home.
Frazier wasn't the only one pumped for his return on Monday, as Pete Alonso -- whom Frazier got to see become the 2019 NL Rookie of the Year -- shared his thoughts on the news right as the trade came through.
"If he does come back, I love Todd," Alonso said. "Todd's the man, so he's always welcome here in the clubhouse."
"Having Todd would be awesome, he's a hell of a leader, he always has a great attitude, he's extremely infectious. He's just a great dude, a great teammate. I can't speak highly enough of the guy.... He just brings good vibes wherever he goes."
Frazier slashed .233/.316/.418 during his two seasons with the Mets.
