The Giants are searching for their next head coach after firing Pat Shurmur. Here's the latest on potential candidate Don Martindale...

The Giants have completed their interview with Martindale, with the two sides meeting in Baltimore. Martindale, 56, met in Baltimore with Giants president John Mara, general manager Dave Gettleman and vice president of football operations Kevin Abrams, the team announced on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the Giants announced that they had completed an interview with Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy, while former Packers coach Mike McCarthy interviewed on Friday. Next up for the Giants, according to reports, is a meeting with Baylor head coach Matt Rhule on Tuesday.

As the Giants field candidates for their head coaching vacancy, one more name is reportedly known on the list of interviews.

New York is set to meet with Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Don Martindale, Pete Schrager of NFL Network reported Wednesday. Martindale, 56, is reportedly slated to interview Saturday with the Giants.

The AFC North-champion Ravens (14-2) have the best record in the NFL and are off with a bye as the wild-card round of the playoffs gets underway over the weekend. On Jan. 11 in the divisional round, No. 1 Baltimore hosts the lowest-seeded winner.

Under the guidance of Martindale, the Ravens' defense ranked third in points (17.6) and fourth in total yards (300.6) allowed per game. Martindale became Baltimore's defensive coordinator in 2018, leading the NFL's top-ranked unit at 292.9 total yards allowed per game.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh (2008-present) promoted Martindale from linebackers coach (2012-17) after former defensive coordinator Dean Pees (2012-17) retired Jan. 1, 2018. Pees' retirement was short-lived, coming back to the Tennessee Titans 28 days later as defensive coordinator.

Martindale's NFL experience includes stints as linebackers coach with the Oakland Raiders (2004-08) and Denver Broncos (2009). He was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Broncos in 2010, but joined Harbaugh's staff the following year as linebackers coach after Denver fired former head coach Josh McDaniels (2009-10).

A decade later, Martindale and McDaniels are reportedly candidates for the same job. The Giants sought permission Monday to interview McDaniels, who went to the then-St. Louis Rams as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2011 and has held the same titles with the New England Patriots since 2012, upon firing former head coach Pat Shurmur (2018-19).

Baylor head coach Matt Rhule (2017-present) is the early favorite for the Giants job, as SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported Monday, but New York's potential targets do not stop there. Dallas Cowboys defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Kris Richard (2018-present), former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy (2006-18), Patriots special teams coordinator/wide receiver coach Joe Judge (2012-19) and Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy (2018-present) are the currently-known candidates.
