Wan'Dale Robinson's tenure in New York got off to a shaky start.

A second-round pick in 2022, Robinson earned the starting slot receiver role, but knee injuries limited him to just six games and 23 catches, and a torn ACL in Week 11 officially ended his rookie campaign, and cast doubt on his role moving forward.

But to his credit, Robinson worked his way back to the field in 2023, had a solid 2024 campaign, and then had the breakout season in 2025 that fans have been waiting for, catching 92 passes for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns.

Just as Robinson appears to be hitting his prime, he's also set to hit the open market as a free agent. Should the Giants bring him back, or would it be smarter to let him walk?

WHY ROBINSON SHOULD STAY

The shifty Robinson, while undersized at 5-foot-8, is the prototypical slot receiver in today's NFL. Robinson is a wizard between the numbers, finding space and using his speed and quickness to get open. He's also tremendous with the ball in his hands, racking up 386 yards after the catch this past season, ranking 26th among all players and ahead of some stars like CeeDee Lamb and DeVonta Smith.

Robinson is also the perfect complement to a do-it-all, No. 1 receiver like Malik Nabers. The LSU product is obviously a rising star, but Nabers is also coming off of a torn ACL. So as he works his way back and shakes off the rust, having a bonafide playmaker like Robinson in the slot should alleviate a lot of the pressure.

On paper, a starting receiver trio of Nabers, a stretch-the-field No. 2 like Darius Slayton (or perhaps someone else if the Giants look to upgrade this spot), and Robinson gives the Giants a very formidable set of weapons for Jaxson Dart.

The other part of Robinson's game that should appeal to the Giants (and any other team), is the ability to use him in a "gadget" role. In college, Robinson played both receiver and running back, and while he only has 17 career carries in the NFL, perhaps there's an opportunity for new head coach John Harbaugh and the next offensive coordinator to put Robinson in motion more often, perhaps lining him up in the backfield, to add an extra dimension to the offense.
