The Jets will officially unveil their new uniforms on Thursday -- though a picture of different jerseys has circulated online -- and ahead of the big reveal, SNY freelance designer Chris Chandler worked up concept renderings for three new Jets jerseys that have a fresh feel for their new era but pay homage to the past.
"For these uniforms, I wanted to give the Jets' uniforms meaning," Chandler said. "When I look at their uniforms, they don't tell me about the culture they've built or what they're building with guys like (Jamal) Adams, (Sam) Darnold, (Le'Veon) Bell, etc. So I wanted to go beyond the green and add details that represents who they are now and what they've built in the past."
Each jersey features the phrase "New Jack City" on the front above the numbers, which Adams had called their defensive team.
The gold in the Color Rush-inspired jerseys is a nod to the Titans, the Jets' original team name.
