The NHL Expansion Draft for the 32nd franchise in the league, the Seattle Kraken, took place on Wednesday night, and the Islanders lost a key player in winger Jordan Eberle.

Josh Bailey was also a candidate to be selected, as the Isles didn't protect him. But Eberle, who totaled 33 points (16 goals, 17 assists) last season with a strong playoff performance, is the man Seattle wanted.

Eberle has 11 years accumulated in the NHL, starting with seven in Edmonton with the Oilers before coming to New York in 2017 to play with the Isles. He played 272 games on Long Island, scoring 76 goals to go along with 93 assists.
