DeGrom will look to turn the tides after a rough last start

The Mets and Reds continue their four-game set at Citi Field on Wednedsay at 7:10 p.m. on SNY.

Mets notes

Pete Alonso hit his first career walk-off, a sacrifice fly to right field, on Tuesday night to propel the Mets over the Reds. He also had a record-setting month as he was tied for home runs by a rookie with Darryl Strawberry (9). He also tied the club record for homers prior to May 1. ...Robinson Cano is back in the lineup tonight after getting hit by a pitch in the hand on Sunday. Over his last 12 games, Cano is hitting .360 with a homer, six doubles, six RBI four runs scored. ...Michael Conforto has reached base safely in nine straight games. ...Amed Rosario recorded his fifth multi-hit game of the season in last night's win. ...The Mets' team average of .259 this year is ranked fourth in the NL and seventh in the league thus far. ...Jeurys Familia has hit the IL with shoulder soreness. He received an injection in his shoulder today.

Who is starting for the Reds?

RHP Anthony DeSclafani (1-1, 4.26 ERA) has settled in on the bump after starting the season a little shaky. In his last start against the Cardinals, he didn't allow a run and only four hits over six innings of work. He also went six innings, allowing one run on two hits in his previous start.

Who is starting for the Mets?

RHP Jacob deGrom (1-1, 7.20 ERA), who is hoping to turn things around after his last start against the Brewers. He allowed five runs on five hits while striking out seven and walking three over four innings. 

This is the fifth start of deGrom's career against the Reds. His last came on August 6, where he got the win after six scoreless innings on the mound.
