The National Football League is back for its 100th season after kicking off with the annual Hall of Fame Game on Thursday night.

Although the Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons got the nod in the game in honor of late Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, former Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey and former Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez all entering the Hall of Fame this year, no team has more connections to the Hall this weekend than the Jets, who will send three former players into Canton.

Center Kevin Mawae (1998-2005) is the headliner for the Jets, but two other inductees spent time with Gang Green over their careers - cornerback Ty Law (2005, 2008) and safety Ed Reed (2013).

Here's a quick look back at the new Hall of Famers' times in New York.

Kevin Mawae (Center, Jets 1998-2005)

Mawae didn't start or end his career with the Jets, but he is most well-known for his time in green. An LSU alum, Mawae started his career in Seattle before coming over to the Jets in 1998. He spent eight years in New York, while spending most of his time leading the way for Curtis Martin.

He made six of his eight career Pro Bowls as a Jet, and was named First-Team All-Pro five times in New York. He started a remarkable 177 straight games beginning in Seattle, with 118 of those coming as a Jet. Mawae was named a first-team member of the 2000s All-Decade team for his consistency.

After leaving the Jets in 2006, Mawae made two more Pro Bowls for the Titans and continued to serve in an executive role for the NFL Player's Association. He currently works as an assistant coach for the Arizona State University football team, where he works with his former Jets coach, Herm Edwards.

Ty Law (Cornerback, Jets 2005, 2008)

Although he's best known as a New England Patriot, Law served two stints as a Jet in 2005 and 2008. A first round draft pick out of Michigan, Law won three Super Bowls and made four Pro Bowls in New England from 1995-2004.

After the Patriots released him in 2005 though, the Jets couldn't help themselves from acquiring a former rival who had pestered their quarterbacks for years. Law responded with a career year for the Jets. He led the league with a career-best 10 interceptions, a figure that no Jet has topped since. He made his fifth Pro Bowl that year, but was cut for financial reasons after just one season.

Law returned to the Jets one more time in 2008, playing seven games and forcing a fumble. Law was also voted to the 2000s All-Decade team, alongside Mawae.

Law's 53 career interceptions are the 24th-most in NFL history, and only 10 players have more pick-sixes than Law, who returned seven interceptions for touchdowns over his career.

Ed Reed (Safety, Jets 2013)

Let's be clear - no one is saying that Reed is going into the Hall of Fame as a Jet. He only played seven games as a Jet in the final year of his career, but he left his mark on the team. He had three interceptions over the seven games, including key fourth-quarter picks in the final two games of his career.

Reed is going into the Hall of Fame as a Baltimore Raven. He spent 11 years there, leading the league in interceptions three times, making nine Pro Bowls and winning a Super Bowl. No player has more interception return yards than Reed or more postseason interceptions.

Overall, Reed is seventh on the all-time list with 64 interceptions. He also made the 2000s All-Decade team for his peak years in Baltimore.
Although Reed's time as a Jet is easily forgotten outside of New York, it was certainly cool for Jets fans to see a legend like Reed end his career with Gang Green.
