Liam Greentree was still playing in the OHL when he was shipped off from the Kings to the Rangers ahead of the NHL trade deadline a few months ago.

So Development Camp earlier this month at the team facility in Westchester marked the first time that the youngster was able to hit the ice in the Blueshirts’ sweater.

“It’s been awesome,” he said. “New York is such a historic, Original Six franchise -- this is the first time I’m wearing the jersey, so it’s definitely a pretty cool experience.”

Greentree, of course, came over from Los Angeles as part of the Artemi Panarin trade.

Though some felt the return was a bit light, Chris Drury emphasized that the franchise valued the young winger higher than adding another 2026 or ‘27 first-round pick.

With his entry-level deal signed, expectations are certainly set high heading into Greentree’s first pro season.

“It’s just the business of it,” he said. “There’s a whole process, so I’m just trusting everyone around me -- I just want to play my game and I want to be a Ranger one day.”

That day could come as soon as later this season for Greentree.

He’s expected to begin his pro career down with AHL Hartford, but should have an opportunity to leave his mark on the Rangers’ coaching staff during training camp.

“I feel ready, I feel strong,” he said. “I’m here to get better, to learn and see what it takes to make it to the next level — it’s about taking everything in and taking it into the season.”

Greentree’s produced at least 36 goals and 74 points in each of the past three OHL seasons, including a 119-point campaign two years ago.

If he can keep that up, he could be an intriguing mid-season addition to NY’s lineup
