Rangers' winger Jesper Fast will be sidelined two-to-four weeks with an upper-body injury, GM Jeff Gorton announced on Sunday.
Fast has three goals and 11 points with eight assists in 31 games this season. The 27-year-old was playing well recently, notching two goals in the last four games while alternating between the second and third lines.
Fast was drafted by New York in the sixth round of the 2010 NHL draft, spending his entire career with the Rangers.
New York is likely to place Fast on the injured reserve list with his first chance to be re-activated into the lineup on Dec. 31. The team recalled Boo Nieves to add depth in place of Fast.
The news broke prior to the Rangers' 12:30 p.m. tilt against the Golden Knights at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
