While at development camp recently, Filip Chytil said that he wants to show the organization in training camp that he is ready to play in the NHL and ready to play in the Rangers top-six. (NYR)
Chytil said that he feels he can play against the best players in the NHL and said that he wants to improve in all areas of his game and "be better and be ready to play in the NHL." (NYR)
He said that he wants to spend all of next season in the NHL, felt that last year in the AHL was great and was able to receive a lot of support from everyone. (NYR)
One scout told Rick Carpiniello that the last time he saw someone of Chytil's age play that well in the AHL was when Mika Zibanejad was playing in the Senators system. (The Athletic)
Chris Drury said that Chytil showed last year that he is an "all-world" skater and has the "high-end ability" to make plays while at top speed. (The Athletic)
On the coming season, Chytil said "I'm bigger and more experienced, I feel more ready to play in the NHL." (NHL.com)
Chytil added that he thinks he has the tools to be a "good NHL player someday, but you have to learn the game and be ready physically." (NHL.com)
Adam Rotter: There is definite hope that Chytil makes the Rangers out of training camp and is able to spend the full season in the NHL. He has all of the tools that the Rangers are trying to build around and he will get every chance to not only make the team but also play in an offensive and PP role. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he started the year in Hartford but there would definitely be some disappointment. A start in Hartford though, or any sting in the minors, isn't set in stone and if Chytil is sent down and performs well, he will get called back up. He's a huge part of the Rangers future so they will be careful with his development, but after impressing in North America last year, there are high hopes for Chytil this year.
